Automate Integration a Big Win
for Honda and its Dealers
20th February, 2007
The Automate DMS user group system
and the changes that are implemented
as a result including integration with
the manufacturer’s systems have
been hailed as a ‘big win’ by Honda
and its dealers.
MMI Automotive hosts user group
meetings for the majority of
manufacturer
groups including a well
supported and
active group for Honda
dealers. This user
group meeting enables
an exchange of views
and ideas between the
dealers, Honda and
MMI which delivers a DMS
that is both up to date
and ‘fit for purpose’ for both
Honda and their dealers. During the user group meetings a wish list is agreed between the dealers, Honda and MMI which forms the basis for the changes. Once these are agreed by all parties changes are made and the upgrades issued to the dealers at no charge. Upgrades from one user group meeting are then the starting point for the next meeting when both Honda and the dealers’ provide feedback as well as new ideas starting the process for further improvements to the DMS to make sure that it continues to fully meet the dealers’ needs.
The focus since the last meeting has been integration with Honda manufacturer systems and has included new modules to provide: data cleanse and automatic re-import, automatic stock replenishment and send note functionality.

Commenting on this process David
Hayward, Managing Director of MMI
Automotive said; “The user group
system has been extremely helpful
across all manufacturers but Honda
and their dealers have really made
the most of the opportunities the
process offers. We believe that we
are the only DMS vendor to offer
these levels of functionality including
data cleanse with automatic re-import
and we have been told by Honda UK
that they regard this as a huge win for
them and their dealers who use
Automate DMS.”
At the Automate DMS Honda User Group
meeting held recently two newly released
modules were favourably discussed; data cleansing
and re-import and the automatic input of parts shopping lists created using the standard Honda extranet application.
Six further modules that are either being piloted during 2007 or are in development with selected dealers were also discussed by both the Honda UK Head Office team and the Honda dealers at the user group meeting.
