Automate Certified for Use
by Vauxhall Retailers
30th August, 2007
Vauxhall has today confirmed that
Automate Version 5.0.0.8 has all of
the mandatory integrations and has
been fully certified by Technical
Vendor Assistance (TVA) to be
compliant for use in a GM
environment. By using Automate
MMI customers will meet the Vauxhall
DMS standard.
The total number of interfaces formally
certified by TVA as compliant with the
standards of GM is currently thirteen:
- Parts Order Entry
- Parts Acknowledgements
- Warranty Claims and Corrections
- Warranty Acknowledgements
- Web Parts Locator
- RIM Parts Invoices and Inventory (Parts sold)
- GME MP2 XML (Vauxhall Menu Pricing)
- Trackerpac (BPI)
- EPC3 integration services
- RIM Historical parts file
- Trade Club
- Vehicle Order Acknowledgements
- TIS2000
MMI will be building and certifying the more modern TIS2Web as soon as the specifications are released, as well as continuing to deliver on our promise to all of our Vauxhall customers to build all of the necessary interfaces to ensure continuing compliance with the franchise standard, free of charge.

MMI has built all the new interfaces in
Exchange, the new Vauxhall method
of communication, which replaces
DCS2, meaning that the old and
unreliable DCS2 server can be
decommissioned now, well ahead of
the December 2008 deadline set
by Vauxhall.
With the new functionality, Vauxhall
users of MMI Automate can enjoy all
the benefits of an endorsed system
without changing their DMS. The
new fully approved functionality has
been specifically developed to integrate
with Vauxhall applications; MMI Automate
allows Vauxhall dealers to access Vauxhall
applications transparently and seamlessly,
increasing efficiency and giving tighter
business control.
Dave Hayward, Managing Director of MMI Automotive added: “Because Automate is built using advanced technology including Progress OpenEdge 10 we were able to develop this very quickly and very cost effectively. MMI has a long history of working with Vauxhall and we will continue to evolve Automate to ensure that all our Vauxhall customers are at the forefront of any new developments required by their franchise. I am delighted that the work we have done not only means that our current Vauxhall customers do not have to change their DMS but also any Vauxhall dealer looking to purchase a new DMS can buy a fully compliant system from MMI at significantly less cost than from the endorsed vendors.”.
